Zenga adds to it’s tech clothing line with the Freeway Jacket. This jacket features water resistant, breathable fabric. The leather and neoprene details lend to its urban look. The LEDs are located on the collar and provide safety. Look for this item to hit stores soon.
It’s back! Spied in the wild. The Zenga Solar JKT is back again.Zenga offers a jacket with solar panels that are removable. The panels when removed, can still be used to charge devices. The Jacket offers USB and many standard adapters for common phone brands. One hour of sun can provide up to 35 mins of talk time. I’ll admit the design is not great, but Zenga promises a better product soon.
Zegna added a third model to their 2007/08 Wearable Electronic collection, the Bluetooth iJacket.
A multi-functional jacket that keeps you in constant touch with your cellphone, even when listening to music and allows you to control both, the phone and the iPod thanks to the Eleksen controls on the sleeve.
The integration of the controls is as sophisticated as you would expect from a Zegna product. The control symbols are embossed on a leather panel that is seamless integrated into the BT iJacket’s special micro-nylon fabric.
While you are listening to your iPod with headphones, you can control your iPod by adjusting the volume, skip to previous or next song or switch on/off or pause your iPod.

Zegna has more than the Leather iJacket in their Wearable Electronic Fashion collection. Looking a bit around in their online store, I found another item in Zegna’s Signature Looks section, the new iJacket.
The design and functionality is distinctive in the new iJacket where sporting and technology are fused together.
The iJacket is made of a special micro-nylon technical fabric with a brushed fabric finish for a smooth exterior to achieve a natural feel, pleasant to the touch.
Heat-welded ribbons on seams make the iJacket fully windproof and waterproof. Other features are a convertible collar that holds a detachable hood and has a loop for headphone cable management.
The invisible laser cut pockets with waterproof zips and underarm vents are as technically effective as they are discreet like everything about the iJacket.

I have seen a sample of the Leather iJacket back in June during the Avantex and I was instantly hooked to that Jacket. Made of soft Nappa leather in a washed vintage look, it has a stylish cut and shows the high quality workmanship from Zegna.

Italian’s fashion company Ermenegildo Zegna is extending it’s Wearable Electronic collection after entering this market with the iJacket and the planned launch later this year with the Bluetooth iJacket under the Zegna Sport collection.
At the currently running men’s fashion show Pitti Uomo in Florence / Italy, Zegna showed the Solar JKT, an outdoor jacket with solar cells integrated into the collar.
Two solar modules, one on each side, convert the sun’s energy into electricity. The electricity is routed via conductive textile cables to a buffer battery, which can be used to charge a device directly or store the power until needed.
The solar modules measures 9 centimeters by 5.5 centimeters each and can generate up to 1 watt of power by full sunlight.

The well known Luxury fashion brand, Ermenegildo Zegna, is joining the Wearable Electronics industry with the release of its Zenga Sport iJacket.
We’ve seen similar iPod jackets of this kind, the controls for the iPod are located on the sleeve. The iPod itself is stored in a plastic pouch sown inside of the Jacket. The controls manipulate volume, track, and play / pause – the standard Remote Control function of the iPod. Although this is nothing special in terms of technology what makes this Jacket outstanding is it’s designed and offered by high street fashion brand .
