The ‘official’ introduction will be at SGMA Spring Market 2007 in Las Vegas which runs from June 11-13.The URBAN TOOL grooveRider is a lightweight, moisture wicking T-shirt that integrates Apple iPods with a smart fabric interface. The shirt also offers cable management features for headphones.

The grooveRider was designed in conjunction with Eleksen, the creator of a unique electro-conductive fabric touch pad. The T-shirt uses Eleksen’s smart fabric technology and allows the complete control over many functions of the iPod, including On/Off, play, pause, track changes and volume. The 5-button switch sensor does not require any batteries and supports most iPod models, allowing for quick and easy access to tunes.

Urban Tool, an innovative Austrian company dedicated to Wearable Electronic, shows off their latest products during the CeBIT 2007 in Hannover (Germany).

We’ve posted about the iPod Shirt ‘grooveRider‘ some time ago but now Urban Tool launches worldwide a Limited 1st edition, according to their website, during CeBIT.

The grooveRider iPod Shirt is the absolute best looking Wearable Electronic garment we have seen so far, just gorgeous. Our dream is to get one of those soonest for a test drive and to show off – big time.

URBAN TOOL, an Austrian company, has released the grooveRider, a T-Shirt with iPod controls built into it using ’smart fabric.’ The front of the shirt has all the buttons needed to control an iPod (video, mini, and nano is supported). The iPod is fits snuggly in a pocket. The cable routing in the T-Shirt ensures that the earphones on anything are well out of the way or tangling up while grooving with this shirt.
