Spyder’s Groove Backpack is in store now and ready for you to get up the mountains and race down with the tunes following you, loud and clear. This saves you valuable breath you need for your boarding. No need to shout out to all the novices on the slope to get out of your way.

Spyder Groove Backpack

NXT is for sound integration into soft goods what Eleksen is for the integration of textile control buttons into all kind of clothing and soft goods.

NXT’s concept of using existing materials and styling elements of bags and backpacks to transform them into a sound radiating speaker is great innovation.

Spyder is launching the Groove backpack this autumn using a Jersey coated EVA panel with NXT technology that is powered by a stereo amplifier.

The result is a durable front panel which emits high quality sound when the backpack is connected to virtually any music devices including iPods, MP3 players and laptop computers via the Groove’s universal 3.5mm audio jack.

Three AAA batteries provide enough power to enjoy your tunes or give a presentation for up to seven hours.

2006 Jackets

We’ve compiled an overview of all the Jackets we’ve posted over the last few months. This list shows how many different styles are already available in the Wearable Electronic clothing market.

We also give you a price indication. You might find some of these Jackets for a lower price, we just selected randomly an online store or the producer itself for a first source of ordering. We do not have any connection to those online stores and we want to be as neutral as possible. There are many other stores, online and off-line that offer these Jackets.

Spider Glacial

Spyder has just added to the Wearable Electronic race their second product by introducing the Glacial Jacket in the 06/07 range.

What makes the Glacier Jacket stand out is the “Gesture Control” that allows the adjustmect of the volume on the iPod or any other MP3 player via a touch-sensitive pad on the upper left sleeve with a brush or tap of your gloved hand.

Spyder’s Glacial Jacket has a unique touch-sensitive pad instead of the more common ‘push’ keypad. You control the volume on any MP3 player through gesture control: an upward-stroke motion over the pad increases volume, downward swipe decreases the volume. Simply tapping the mute area turns the music off or on respectively.

We like that! Something different, cool to use and to be honest, stroking (gently) is a better treatment ..read more

Spyder Limited Edition iPod Jacket

The Spyder Limited Edition Jacket is one of the most expensive jackets we’ve ever seen. At a retail price of $3000 this jacket does not come cheap. I’ve seen it priced as low as $1499 at some online stores, so if you hunt around you can find one significantly cheaper than the retail price.

The Spyder Limited Edition Jacket is an iPod enabled powerhouse. The jacket is weatherproof and comes with matching ski pants. Your iPod connects directly to the jacket and is controlled by a panel located on the left sleeve. The control panel works while wearing gloves and can control the volume or scan through songs. Earphones are stored nicely in small pockets in the collar when not in use.

The Spyder Limited Edition Jacket also includes many practial ski-worthy ..read more
