Sonic Impact has introduced both Roxy and Quicksilver iPod Speaker Cases. These cases are speaker laden and protect you gear from sun, sand, wind, and dirt. The Roxy edition is $119.99 and the Quicksilver one is $99.95.There is a decent sound quality to the iPod case, Sonic Impact uses aluminum cone neodymium drivers combined with their and advanced Maxxbass technology that provides an enhanced bass response while minimizing distortion. 4x AA batteries will last a whole day but if you plan to use this cases as a backup in your home, there is an AC power adapter included as well. Quiksilver has added to their backpack line with sound shell in the 2007/08 range a Snowboarding jacket that let you control your tunes easily while racing down the hills.
The U-Ramp Snowboard Jacket has soft switch buttons in the left sleeve that can be operated even with thick gloves on your hands.
There is no mention anything specific for iPod but based on the functionality overview of this Jacket which says: ‘… select songs and turn up the volume’ means it only could/should work with an iPod. To select/skip songs is not possible on the generic solutions like the ones used in Quiksilver’s backpacks.

Quiksilver has launched a range of backpacks with integrated sound system from NXT and ‘made for iPod‘ label.
The Quiksilver models Day Pack, Surf Pack and Snow Pack feature the finest materials, sophisticated technical construction and embedded technology.
All three models have weatherproof NXT flat panel loudspeakers which are formed from EVA foam. Employing NXT SurfaceSound technology, the stereo speaker modules result in a lightweight yet durable front panel which emits stereo sound when the backpack is connected to a portable audio player.

Yesterday Quiksilver and Plantronics kicked off a new strategic partnership to outfit outdoor sports enthusiasts with a unique array of Bluetooth enabled sports apparel and accessories.
Quiksilver and Plantronics previewed a new collection of premium snow apparel and accessories providing wireless, high-performance stereo music and mobile phone communications.
This is a new and interesting alliance which includes the Quiksilver and Roxy brands and Plantronics which is recognized as a leader of Bluetooth voice and stereo technology.
