Bags

Too. Many. Gadgets. Our lives are filled with em. They don’t operate on endless power, though. These things need to be charged and its easy to forget nowadays. Thanks to the Powerbag you won’t have to worry about losing juice on your iPhone right before needing to find a public restroom again.

Inside the bag is a removable rechargeable battery that’s connected to a dock with 30-pin Apple connector, micro-USB, mini-USB and regular old USB ports attached for charging up just about any gadget. This does add a modicum of weight to the bag, however. Worth it? We say yes.

The whole shebang will set you back around $140. It’s available now. Finally we can be lazy and forgetful in peace!

We all know ThinkGeek loves putting playable instruments in the weirdest of places. Up until now, though, they’ve relegated their fetish to clothing. Well, the beat just cannot be stopped. The company has transitioned the tech over to their first carrying bag.

ThinkGeek’s Electric Guitar Bag is the perfect storage container for a laptop or whatever else you carry around with you in your day-to-day. The hook, of course, is that handsome looking electric guitar on the outside. That guitar is playable. The accompanying distortion pedal is usable. It’s like Eddie Van Halen if Eddie was a messenger bag and not an actual dude.

It is released on August 28th. How much will all of this rocking set you back? Just $50, which is cheaper than even those crappy Walmart guitars.

You love your iPad. So why not show it off? Now you can, using the finest leather money can buy. Now, thanks to Versetta, you can not only tote your precious iPad around in style, you can also show it off to any and all takers.

This is all thanks to the unzippable window that Versetta has wisely implemented in their new line of totes. This allows you to quickly unzip and make everyone around you jealous by sheer force of will. Of course, it’s more or less Steve Jobs’ will and not your own but any will do in this day and age.

The bags are available now. They range in price from $189 to $229 and come in a variety of styles.

Ah, the humble GPS. It’s in our phones. It’s in our computers. It’s not, however, in our carry bags. Not until now, that is. A Chicago resident known simply as Josh has been toiling on a project to put the global positioning in backpacks and bags. This could be a boon to the hopelessly lost. Now we don’t have to whip out our phones every time we are lost, which is approximately every two seconds. It’ll be right there on our bags!

This bag can actually fool people into thinking you know which direction you go. You don’t have to look at it, ever. It works by constantly monitoring your position versus your destination. Then, it sends you vibrations to let you know if you are going the right way. Simple ..read more

About 9 months ago, Voltaic announced that they would be creating a solar bag that would be able to generate enough juice to power a notebook.  It seems like this ambitious project might be coming to fruition.

The lofty ambitions of Voltaic would make this the most powerful solar bag on the market.  A tall 17w of power generation comes from cutting edge solar cells that are super efficient.  So far the Voltaic shop says coming soon but the MoMA store shows it for $598 and available August 30th!

We sit impatiently to see if this bag can deliver on the promise it made.  If in fact it does perform as advertised, this would be a huge step in solar tech.  We are rooting for you Voltaic!
